There has been such difficulty hiring and we all know it as plain to see. Try going to your nearest fast food or restaurant and you will see “hiring” all the way there on the drive and you will experience the shortage, sometimes, with service.
In 2021, 73% of all manufacturing leaders raised wages to meet this demand. This was to try to lure in new faces and keep them in positions. At this point, we’ve seen that just because you pay them more, doesn’t mean you will keep them. It’s now time to incorporate values, ongoing learning opportunities, and empowerment to their new workforce. It’s time to develop the existing workers as well into a better and newer workforce.
Having a strong core culture is another incentive to new hires and it’s not about the cold hard cash any longer.
